Rev com Reviews

Welcome to my Rev.com Review Review. My goal is to help you understand what the program is all about, how much it costs, if it's a good use of your time, your money, and much more! It should be less than 10 minutes start to finish, so let's dive in!

Disclaimer:

This Rev.com Review review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

The Good Stuff

  • Rev.com hires freelancers from all around the world.
  • It might be part-time employment, allowing you to maintain other interests.
  • If you don't like the assignment you've been assigned, you can abandon it within an hour.

The Bad Stuff

  • It pays a very low-interest rate
  • Job availability is limited.

Firstly, Why Am I Writing The Review?

Nice to meet you, my name is Brittney!

My story starts like many do… “slaving away” at a 9-5 job that I didn’t really enjoy, but hey – it paid the bills.

I worked for a large Fortune 500 company that performed background checks for other companies when they wanted to hire a new employee… so you know, not exactly exciting stuff.

For a lot of people, a nice stable job and predictable check coming in every month is the picture of success, but for me, it felt like I was missing out on life.

Clocking in every single day, doing the same tasks over and over again, getting home with barely enough time to make dinner and enjoy some time to myself… only to wake up again the next morning and do it all over again.

I just wanted to enjoy life without being shackled to an unfilling job.

I wanted to be able to take vacations whenever I wanted, for however long I wanted.

I didn’t want to have to beg my boss for a salary increase that barely matched inflation.

I just wanted to be free and happy.

Then about 4 years ago (as a stroke of luck), I stumbled across a program that taught me how to make money online by actually helping real people (local US businesses).

Who Cares About That?

99% of reviewers out there don’t have experience running an actual business. They’re writing about stuff that they have no real experience with.

Why would they do that?

They just want you to click through and buy the program that the review is about!

I have absolutely no relationship with J Rich, so you can rest easy knowing that I’m going to give you my honest opinion.

This review is written based on my own experiences with this business model.

All that being said, let’s jump into things.

Rev.Com Reviews: Can You Really Make Money With Transcription?

Are you stuck at home amid the COVID crisis and want to make some extra money?

Check out my Rev.com review to see whether this site is legitimate or a scam.

We’re going to review Rev.com to decide if it really is the best work-from-home site out there.

We’ll talk about whether being a transcriptionist is the right online job for you.

At the end, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Rev.com and work-from-home in general.

What Is Rev.Com?

What Is Rev.Com

Rev.com is a US-based corporation that gives work-at-home opportunities to individuals worldwide. The company is recognized globally for the jobs it provides for those work-at-home job searchers on an independent schedule.

Established in 2010 by Josh Breinlinger & Jason Chicola, Rev.com benefits organizations like PBS and Comcast by offering services within transcribing and translation.

Rev.com was previously known as FoxTranscribe. Then in 2012, it was rebranded as Rev.com.

Rev is a highly reputable organization, and for many years, it was able to produce a large marketplace within the domain of speech-to-text jobs. Rev is permitted in every place it works, and also, it’s been shown on multiple sites like the Wall Street Journal and TechCrunch.

Rev.com has likewise been handed the PC Mg’s Editor’s Choice Award because of its exceptional work within the domain of transcription.

The company’s objective is to develop far better work-at-home employment and satisfy clients and freelancers.

Rev has four open roles for freelancers, which are as follows:

  • Transcriptionist:  Converting spoken English audio files into a written document
  • Subtitler: On-screen translation of spoken words and subtitles to video.
  • Captioner: Transcribing spoken English and adding captions to video are two tasks that require transcription.
  • Translator: Other than video subtitles, translation.

If you’re unfamiliar with online transcription and translation services, be assured that the process is straightforward.

Rev allows clients to upload audio and video files, subsequently forwarded to you for transcription or translation.

Essentially, you’re sitting at your computer (in a distraction-free area), listening to and typing out conversations about subjects you’re unlikely to care about.

It may appear straightforward, but you’re frequently confronted with poor audio quality, difficult-to-understand accents, and several people speaking over one another.

If it does not fit your skillset or you have problems finding work, there are other ways to earn money online.

Rev.Com Review: Is Rev Com A Legit Company?

is it legit

Rev.com is a reputable website. Many individuals accuse the organization of being a scam, but it is not, as you will discover in our Rev.com reviews.

Rev has good relationships with well-known businesses such as Real Simple, Forbes, and The New York Times. Nobody, particularly high-profile companies, wants to be associated with someone or anything they believe is fraudulent.

The most compelling evidence that Rev.com is not engaging in illegal activity is a legitimate business.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that the group was named a recipient of the PC Mg’s Editor’s Choice Award for their outstanding contribution to transcription.

Additionally, any organization engaging in a scam would lack a social network presence and a physical business address.

That is not the case, fortunately, with Rev.com.

Rev.com is a social media powerhouse with thousands of followers. The company includes all pertinent information, such as their phone number and address.

These proofs are more than sufficient to establish that Rev.com is reputable and trustworthy with its customers.

There is a great deal of misunderstanding due to the numerous negative reviews. Indeed, you will hear a lot of noise about their low pay rate, but this does not necessarily indicate that the company is dishonest.

How Much Do You Make With Rev As A Transcriptionist?

With Rev.com, there is no set compensation rate. You are compensated based on the work you complete and your overall performance.

As a captioner or transcriptionist, you might earn between $0.4 and $0.75 per minute of video or audio.

  • Subtitlers and transcriptionists earn between 30 and 70 cents per minute.
  • You can make roughly $0.4 to $0.5 per word as a translator or writer.
  • While the salary may not appear substantial, it might provide a valuable side income.

Not great money, but you are not doing manual labor and can work from home. However, do not anticipate a constant flow of assignments.

Bear in mind that not everyone hired with Rev receives the same compensation. The amount you receive may be contingent upon factors such as:

  • Typing speed and accuracy
  • The time required to complete the task
  • The standard of work
  • Ratio of commitment

These are the primary factors influencing how much you will earn as a Rev. transcriber. Apart from these four elements, numerous others might affect your pay rates, such as the quality and difficulty level of the audio or video assigned, as well as the number of tasks available at the time.

Reviews And Complaints

customer complaints

As I previously stated, most negative reviews on the web are due to poor pay rates.

However, those complaining about the lesser pay should keep in mind that you can work from home and have the freedom to establish your hours and work at your speed. Few other companies offer this.

Can You Actually Make Money On Rev As A Typist?

Rev is a legitimate way to generate money online and an excellent place to start if you are serious about a work-at-home lifestyle.

However, you will require additional revenue streams. The issue with online jobs is not necessarily the pay/per-hour or task-based compensation. It is the irregularity and downtime associated with work.

Is Rev Com Secure?

Rev.com is a great method to supplement your income while remaining at home. It provides authentic work-at-home opportunities with a low starting salary and flexible work hours. It provides work opportunities in the translation and transcription industries. However, if you aspire to run a business and serve as CEO, this may not be the path for you.

How Do You Apply At Rev?

Rev accepts applications from everybody, regardless of their geographical location.

The company employs both offline and online freelancers to do transcription assignments. Rev.com uses a rigorous application process in light of the company’s reputation.

The whole application procedure may take up to an hour. You will almost certainly be required to take various exams to be considered an eligible applicant.

Rev uses a three-stage screening process in which you will be tested on your transcription, grammar, and typing talents.

  • The initial round assesses your typing ability. To advance to the next level, excellent typing abilities are required. Here, you’ll be given 60 seconds to input as many words as possible. You will be evaluated on your typing speed and accuracy. After passing this step, you will advance to the next—the grammatical check.
  • The next round is a grammar examination during which you will be given a video or audio recording that you must write down accurately and without making any grammatical errors. Following the style guide, excellent grammar and punctuation skills are required to pass this round.
  • The transcribing test is the final and most critical round of the selection process. This round includes audio with two speakers. Your objective will be to identify between the two speakers and take notes on what they are saying.

The primary advantage of this round is that there is no deadline. Nonetheless, it is far preferable to complete the test fast, as the number of competitors increases over time.

After submitting your application, you will receive an email from Rev.com informing you if you passed or failed the test in one to two business days.

If you are unsuccessful, you may reapply after 45 days.

Is Rev.Com Legit?

Rev is legitimate. They compensate you for the transcription services you provide. However, there are numerous possibilities when it comes to starting a business.

And even if you’re hell-bent on becoming a stay-at-home parent, there are many excellent alternatives to Rev.com.

Bear in mind that I am not compensated for promoting any of my review services. I believe that work-from-home jobs are an excellent business strategy, but you risk losing far too much money.

Is Rev.com A Scam?

scam or legit ggmoney

So, is Rev.com a scam? Not technically. You can make money with it, but it’s definitely not as easy as Josh Breinlinger & Jason Chicola makes it sound.

Again, with any kind of financial product (especially trading), you’re taking on a lot of risk.

Sure, you could hit it big and retire in Italy, but chances are you need the stomach and financial cushion to weather tons of losses before you get there…and it may never happen.

Most of the big gains numbers these companies use in their marketing (“xyz grew by 4,112% in 3 months” or “this option made 324% in just 2 days”) are cherry-picked.

They don’t tell you about the 10 100% losers that came before.

In other words, if you invested $100 into 11 recommendations, you’d lose $1,000, and make back $324…so you’d still be out almost $700.

Most people don’t have the fortitude to stick it out through 3 straight months of losers in the hopes of landing one big winner.

What if, instead, you took those same 3 months, invested just a couple hours a day (in your spare time), and your reward was a $500 to $2,000 payment that came in every single month?

And what if you actually didn’t need to wait 3 months? What if you could get started today and have your first payment in a week?

And what if you could double it next week?

Well, that’s the power of Digital Leasing

It’s a true lifestyle business.

Your laptop and an internet connection is all you need.

Some of the most successful students in this program run their entire 6-figure businesses from:

  • A camper in the middle of the woods
  • A beach chair on the water in Mexico
  • A small villa in Greece

They’re able to travel around, living their lives first, and focusing on their income second.

Because even if they stop working for an extended period of time, the money keeps coming in.

So adventure, memories, and experience are the top priority.

And they never have to worry about how to pay for the next trip, or consider asking for time off.

Can You Make Money With Rev.Com?

make money

Audio and video transcription is a popular work-at-home side income. The issue is that it is rarely lucrative, and you are still exchanging hours for a few extra bucks.

Rev reports average earnings of approximately $240 a month, with top employees earning around $1500/month.

Transcribing is a time-consuming task. You may earn decent money doing this, but you must be quick and precise, demanding skills that cannot be acquired overnight. Some individuals never find their rhythm, resulting in many complaints about inadequate compensation.

You can certainly make money with Rev.com, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a transcriptionist (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the same type of skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

What Is Our Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2024?

Digital Leasing

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Leasing!

Where Rev.com fall short is in scalability.

You can’t realistically expect to be able to work all hours of the day from home doing cheap transcribing… you’d run out of time.

But what if you leverage it?

With this Digital Leasing program, you will be getting clicks from multiple sites at every minute of the day and never have to pick up a phone once!

Sound too good to be true?

Of course it does!

But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it Digital Leasing now?

That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring.

Remember Rev.com doesn’t really offer huge profit margins, right?

This one actually allows you to collect big sums without being on the internet all day.

Truly passive income!

Passive Income

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group that is so much better than any of the groups you’ll find for other models in our opinion.

This group is much more active.

Unlike Rev.com, where you’re just a slave to time…these websites turn into your employees and they work 24/7. A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding Digital Leasing.

Unlike Rev.com, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.

Digital Leasing allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent WITH your family

Now, I know you probably have tons of questions…

So, check this out to learn more.
