Inbound Closer is a sales training course that promises to show you how to earn a 6-figure income by being a “closer”.
In other words, taking sales calls for high-ticket coaching programs.
Honestly, it’s not a bad premise…
If you’re looking to trade in one job for another, with even less security.
Ok, all snark aside, sales isn’t a bad industry. Salespeople are always in demand, and – if everything is aligned – you can earn a good to great income.
Unfortunately, that relies on everything actually working properly. And in 99/100 organizations, that’s just not the case.
The biggest problem with being a “closer” is that – no matter how much money you make – you’re entirely at someone else’s mercy. If it’s not your program or your business, then your income can always be taken away.
The second biggest problem is lead flow/quality. The average no-show rate for most coaching programs is 50-70%. That means if you get 8 calls on your calendar per day, 4-5 of them won’t even show up. In other words, half your day (and half your potential income) is wasted.
The third problem is the actual commission rate. Now, this isn’t actually a problem, except that most of these training programs tell you you can land a $1,000+ commission check every day.

Payton Welch, who is a proud alum of the University of Memphis, and his brother, provide your basic online program about making money through the art of sales. In fact, it’s common knowledge in the high ticket industry that sales is a great way to make money.
In the course you have a basic landing page with navigation to get to the different parts of the training videos. This interface is very simple and straight forward. We even had a grandpa of one of our review team members test it out to make sure!
We’ll dive deeper into the course contents later down below.
You get access to the daily commission check blueprint. This 2 module library walks you through everything you need to know and act upon to land your first high ticket client in just one week!
Personally, after going through this myself alongside our review team, we found that the training program is sound, but you need to make phone calls all the time every day to line your pockets with daily commission.
You get access to the Inbound Closer Accelerator as well. This is Payton’s 21 day zero to hero inbound closing system.
We have found that this part of the program is extremely helpful because just how much time and effort was put into it. Payton carefully crafted this closing system after nearly 3,200 calls and $40 million closed in business.
You also get access to the inbound closer 7 and 8 figure earners with post call recordings that are broken down so that you can understand, learn, and apply these techniques.
Our review team had mixed reviews about this. Some said they found the inbound closer mastermind group helpful, while others found it mediocre.
On a positive note however, all of our review team agreed that having access to a network of online entrepreneurs is always helpful!

Who Are Payton Welch And Taylor Welch?
They are brothers who are known for their sales skills. Taylor actually has a program of his own that he’s partnered up with Chris Evans on called Traffic and Funnels.
Although some may argue that it’s a scam and that Payton Welch is a scam artist… we would have to say after taking a deeper look that he’s the real deal.
Same with his brother Taylor, even if he just gave a Payton a rebranded version of his program.
However, Payton Welch has been questioned by some online. Their landing page is full of bold promises that the skeptics don’t like.
Here’s just a couple of bold promises:

- work on your own schedule from anywhere in the world
- work just 1-2 hours a day
- tap into a 129 billion + dollar industry that is always growing.
Who Is Payton Welch?
Payton Welch, who sometimes people misspell as Peyton Welsh, wears many hats. He’s a digital marketer, real estate investor, and overall businessman. His biggest claim to fame besides Inbound Closer is his old course called “Sales Mentor” which also teaches telemarketing.
As you’re doing research on Payton Welch’s course, we’re sure you’re just dying to know if he’s actually making money from the skillset he claims to teach. The truth is that Payton has made more than 3000 calls and has landed him with over $42,000,000 in sales. Notice how we said sales…not profit.
What he does land in profit, he tends to invest in real estate.
Beyond just Inbound Closer though, he has a position as senior traffic advisor/digital marketing consultant for Traffic and Funnels. That’s the upsell course taught by his brother Taylor Welch and best friend Chris Evan.
As far as being an entrepreneur in the online business space, Payton really seems to be making his stride. Various sources point to his Payton Welch’s net worth being $2 million and growing.
It wasn’t always sun shines and rainbows for him though. In fact, just a few years ago he was just like you. He was working an annoying 9-5 that he hated, and then big brother came to the rescue. And no, we don’t mean the government.
His brother Taylor Welch, you know, the Traffic and Funnels guy, helped him turn his life around!
Sure, you might say to yourself: “Well shoot guys, if anyone in my family was running a million dollar company, I’d be set for life just like Payton was luck to be!”. But you’d be wrong.
Payton Welch started from the bottom of his brothers company and had to work his way up. It was in starting from the bottom where Payton had all this growth. His growth with sales is what led to the creation of Inbound Closer and becoming a stellar telemarketer.
There was no secret to Payton’s success with inbound calls, it just took a ton of repetition. That is if you attack something with brute force long enough, eventually you’ll make some head way. That’s what happened. And Taylor Welch began to take notice of his little brothers big numbers. He began having Payton run sales training courses for Traffic and Funnels clients. This was the beginning of the subsidiary of Traffic and Funnels called Sales Mentor.
You’ll know exactly what we’re talking about if you’ve seen the Sales Mentor Youtube Ads. You’ve probably seen a similar script:
“Do you want to earn a living online?”
“Well, the reality is you have two options.”
“First, you could build a business like all these other two-hour webinars are telling you to do, and you can spend the next two years working 70-hour weeks, on top of your 9 to 5, until you get things off the ground. Nothing wrong with that,”
“But I’ll prove to you in a second why you’d actually be taking the long route because there’s another option. And just like the 1,621 people who’ve used that option to replace their 9 to 5 within 21 days, you’ll see, clear as day, how you can get all the good things you want.”
A quick google search will bring to light that the Inbound Closer course and certification actually operates under the Sales Mentor company name. You know, the course Payton Welch promoted way beforehand?
It’s no wonder why people everywhere are asking whether or not these courses are the same. They’re offered for different prices, but from what some people are saying online, the content is pretty similar.
But hey, the guy really isn’t all that bad. He actually offers more than just one free training video on YouTube that focus on his bread and butter, sales and marketing.
There’s no doubt that Payton and Taylor Welch are making big money. You can’t run a massive channel like theirs, spend thousands in paid advertising, and be broke.
A quick look at the Sales Mentor YouTube channel will show that they’ve only got 500 subs…pretty small numbers considering they have one video with north of 3 million views!
Why the crazy difference?
Odds are they use that video as an Ad pitch for the Inbound Closer program and Sales Mentor, talk about great inbound marketing!
It may be hard to believe, but the truth is that some internet marketing gurus and digital course creators can really be raking in the big bucks despite having such a small social following. They often keep a low profile and work when no one else is watching.
But if you just gauge his growth by his social media profiles like Instagram, you’ll notice it seems like he’s becoming someone just like Kevin David (Amazon) and Tai Lopez (self help).
He flashes an extravagant lifestyle to help add as social proof for those wanting to join his courses. And if that’s not the reasoning, it’s not like he hasn’t earned the right for those luxuries right?

Module 0: Becoming The Person Who Deserves Success
Module 0 is essentially just your stereotypically introduction to any other online course like the Inbound Closer program. They go over the basics like some of the main points they want to cover, how to make it all work for you etc. In fact the very first lesson breaks down what you need to keep an eye on during this learning process and they even give you a printable note sheet as you start the full Inbound Closer journey.
After all the formalities, Payton begins talking about how inbound closing is the biggest opportunity in todays marketplace. Then he shows you how this whole certification thing is going to work and what you should focus on next.
Something that they included that is nice to see is their mindset lessons. It’s always important to have a healthy mindset when you are beginning to try something new.
Module 1: Closer’s Mindset
The art of sales is all a mind game, especially when you’re an Inbound Closer. That’s actually what Payton covers in this first module. He thinks it’s the mindset that separates successful closers from unsuccessful ones. So, he shows what the right mindset is and gives you advice on how to stay there.

If you guessed by the title that it would be more mindset and motivation, you’d be absolutely right! But instead of Payton being on the videos you watch, this time it’s Eli Wilde who’s another one of the Sales mentor’s involved in the course.
Throughout this module he talks about why your confidence is crucial because for a client to hand you over money…they have to feel as though they’re talking to an expert.
After you guys get through that, he talks about sales as leadership and how to take your mindset as a closer to the next level. Eli also provides a unique way for you to look at sales. He says you’re not just another salesperson…you’re their guardian…you’re there to protect them from shady people.

At this point you FINALLY start getting into closing high ticket deals. Most of this module is taught by Eli Wilde. Be sure to take some notes here for sure, you’ll be glad to revisit them.
He also goes into how to prep for closes. Could you imagine that? Actually doing your due diligence before jumping on the call with someone…To be honest, you’ll be surprised how helpful something as small as this would be. It will really give you a stronger position on the call.
He also shares with you a list of “challenging” questions, that will really help the prospect dig deep and give you valuable information that can connect with them on a deeper level. And this time the bonus clips are from the one and only Taylor Welch!
Module 4: Closing With Confidence
Module 4 is basically just a continuation of the previous module. Eli, talks more deeply about what you should do before and during the calls, as well as closing confidently.
The truth is that if your prospect feels that you lack confidence or are dancing around certain questions they ask…they’ll be less likely to buy from you.
After that, Eli introduces you to one of their aggressive closing scripts. But note that this should only be used in specific situations.
Module 5: Mastering Objections
This is the module that separates rookies from pros. Just like a build off of the last module, Eli runs you through how to handle objections. Handling objections properly allows you to appear confident and as the authority in the market.
By mastering objections the way Eli teaches you, you’ll be much more likely to close a deal than someone who does not know how to handle objections. He shows you some patterns and frameworks you can work with to stay poised and confident while on the phone.
Mastering objections will set you apart from 99% of other closers.
Module 6: Becoming A Professional Inbound Closer
This is just a bonus module that will be unlocked once you go through and complete the first 5 modules. The idea with this module is that it is the icing on the cake that makes you a professional Inbound Closer.
After you pass your certification, you get access to the groups closers and owners network. Here you learn more about why continuous mentoring is important to your growth as an inbound closer. Lastly, they give you some templates to build on for your personal inbound closer bio.
What Does The Internet Have To Say About Inbound Closer?
There are some pretty strong opinions found on reddit about Inbound closer, however… here is what the people are saying on this thread (which no longer exists, this happens sometimes when they are deleted):

“Exactly. The YouTube ads with this dirty blond haired young man comes on saying something like “can you answer a phone? All you need is a cell phone and a PDF” and you can start making money and quit your job in 21 days.
You see, before this I was stuck as a corporate drone in a dead end job…..” blah blah, and I think he says something about when you answer the calls and close a sale, getting a minimum of $980 per sale.
And then at the last part he approaches a few of his ‘students’ and says something like “hey Carl, how much did you make last month?” And they say “uhmm, $15,240.00”. And then he asks him “and what did you make before at your corporate job as a d**** tester?”. And the guy says “$45,000 a year.”
And lastly the guy says “what sort of ‘limited beliefs’ did you have that kept you from earning what you’re worth, like you are now.”
He almost makes it sound like you pay $97 and then you get the script and let them know what hours and what days you want to be available for incoming calls and after that you start getting phone calls of people interested in buying whatever product or service they have and when you read the script and close them, BAM!
You get a check the following week for $980 or $980 times however many sales you closed.
Wouldn’t that be great!
You close only one sale your first week and get a check for $980, then the next week or the week after that you get better and/or work a few more hours and you end up closing 4 sales and then get a check for $3,920 the next week and so on.
And then you’re thinking, “okay, that’s how these ‘students’ of his are making $15,000 or $17,000 or $20,000 per month.
But like all of those ‘how to get rich selling real estate’ courses, it just gives you some sales tips and tells you how to prospect and find people to start offering your services and hopefully you go out and put the work in and start making money. ”

If you were being given clients and all you had to do was pick up calls amazing but they don’t even give you clients.

While sarcasm is certainly noted in the response…the writers frustration is understandable. They feel as though that the Inbound Closer advertising is misleading.
They feel that they are led to believe all they will need to do is be taking high ticket deals over the phone. Unfortunately, the truth is that they have to prospect to get their first high ticket client.
If they think “inbound closing” is this bad though, they should take a look at the affiliate marketing model! That’s even tougher!

“Hey quick question then, in their video they said they help connect you with these clients for closing. But in your post you say there is no help with client connection?”
mcfidgi (the OP) replies by saying:
“That’s true, I don’t remember them saying that they’d connect you with clients in the video but if they do then that’s misleading. I believe they do do that if you buy the upsell but I still don’t think I’d recommend that unless you were already making money.
They do give tips on finding clients and there are some case studies where they’ll talk with other people and they’ll talk about how they found clients. Basically you’ll need to hustle a bit and be consistent to find clients, but people do it.
Some people in the facebook group have said that for them the process of finding clients is basically the same as the process of closing sales.”
As you can see, Inbound closer definitely has a wide range of opinions swarming around. Some people think it’s the best thing since sliced bread, others think it’s a misleading sales course that turns you into a telemarketer for yourself.
Is Inbound Closer A Scam?
So, is Inbound Closer a scam?
You can make money with this program, and if you want to take the first step into the world of online business/marketing, this isn’t a bad way to go.
But at the same time, sales is a job, not a business. You’re not going to reach time freedom or financial freedom if you’re always trading your time for money.
Remember, there’s a good chance you’ll be spending most of your day on the phone.

Does Inbound Closer Have A Refund Policy?
Inbound closer claims to have a 30 day refund policy, but given that their site is no longer live, I cannot share a screenshot of their exact terms.
However, here is a screenshot of a claimed former customer.
They say that it took two emails back to back to get them to respond, but they did get their money back.
