Dominick Carney Reviews (Updated 2024): What’s He Trying To Sell You With Amazon FBA?

Welcome to my Review. My goal is to help you understand what the program is all about, how much it costs, if it's a good use of your time, your money, and much more! It should be less than 10 minutes start to finish, so let's dive in!

Dominick Carney Review

Hi there and thanks for joining me on this Dominick Carney reviews roundup! This is where I take a detailed look at what this Amazon seller program is all about…

So how did you wind up here?

  • Maybe you were looking for ways of making money online, and wondered if this Amazon dropshipping business course was the right way to go?
  • Perhaps you saw an ad for Dom Carney, but needed more information before you dive on in with the Amazon Profit Guide program?
  • Or it could be you’re worried about all those scam horror stories, and you just had to ask… “is Dom Carney legit?”

Whichever it is, no worries… I got you!

But why listen to what I’ve got to say?

  • I’ve been lucky enough to have some success in the online program world, so I know what can work and what is probably best left alone…
  • I’ve written plenty of reviews like this one… you might have seen some of my other blogs, like my article on the Wondr Masterclass, or the one on Cash Cow Academy?
  • I’ve done my research, big time! I’ve check out all the Dom Carney reviews I could find, to give you all the insight you’re looking for…

So let’s get right to it. Give me 15 minutes of your time, and I’ll give you the details you need to make the right call on the Amazon Profit Guide program.

This review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

All in all the curriculum is pretty strong, and this is backed up by live mentoring and coaching calls. The active community for this program used to be better than most, I’d say. It’s delivered through a Facebook group, but this group is regularly monitored and checked, and Dom and his team keep everyone engaged by rewarding top performing sellers. These days, though, there aren’t many members.

The Good Stuff

  • Dom Carney focuses on how to get into ecommerce without the fees and upfront investment of Amazon FBA.
  • The course is fairly comprehensive, with lots of clearly presented information and step by step guides.
  • Dom and his team have worked hard to keep the community active and thriving, despite falling member numbers.

The Bad Stuff

  • Amazon dropshipping is not really permitted, which means the entire business model is built on shaky ground.
  • Dom has had some business failures in the past, so you might be concerned your money is at risk with this business model.
  • There's a strict no refund policy on the course.

Firstly, Why Am I Writing The Review?

Nice to meet you, my name is Brittney!

My story starts like many do… “slaving away” at a 9-5 job that I didn’t really enjoy, but hey – it paid the bills.

I worked for a large Fortune 500 company that performed background checks for other companies when they wanted to hire a new employee… so you know, not exactly exciting stuff.

For a lot of people, a nice stable job and predictable check coming in every month is the picture of success, but for me, it felt like I was missing out on life.

Clocking in every single day, doing the same tasks over and over again, getting home with barely enough time to make dinner and enjoy some time to myself… only to wake up again the next morning and do it all over again.

I just wanted to enjoy life without being shackled to an unfilling job.

I wanted to be able to take vacations whenever I wanted, for however long I wanted.

I didn’t want to have to beg my boss for a salary increase that barely matched inflation.

I just wanted to be free and happy.

Then about 4 years ago (as a stroke of luck), I stumbled across a program that taught me how to make money online by actually helping real people (local US businesses).

Who Cares About That?

99% of reviewers out there don’t have experience running an actual business. They’re writing about stuff that they have no real experience with.

Why would they do that?

They just want you to click through and buy the program that the review is about!

I have absolutely no relationship with J Rich, so you can rest easy knowing that I’m going to give you my honest opinion.

This review is written based on my own experiences with this business model.

All that being said, let’s jump into things.

TLDR – Will Amazon Profit Guide Help You Make It Big With Your Own Business?

TLDR – Will Amazon Profit Guide Help You Make It Big With Your Own Business?

So Dominick Carney’s Amazon Profit Guide is all about helping you run your ecommerce empire through the Amazon platform. But this is not FBA… this is dropshipping, Amazon style. So you don’t go through Amazon’s official FBA channels.

What Dominick teaches is actually pretty smart. Amazon FBA can be a real pain. The low profit margins of ecommerce make it really hard to be successful anyway, so if you can avoid those pesky FBA fees this is definitely a good thing.

The course doesn’t seem too bad…

And the course seems good too. You’ll learn plenty about running your online business, making more money by choosing the right international and domestic suppliers, and achieving financial freedom through outsourcing and hiring virtual assistants.

Dom Carney says you can do all this without investing your life savings or personal funds. Amazon FBA certainly needs a bit of upfront investment, so you’re left praying that your products sell fast enough to put you back in the black.

The Amazon dropshipping is different to other methods, so you won’t have to dip into your emergency fund or extra capital If you’ve still got college loans or other other ongoing payments… like just about everyone does… this is nice to hear.

But I’ve got a few concerns here…

Firstly… you’re basing your entire business model on something that’s not really allowed!

Amazon don’t like people dropshipping on their platform. They think the business model is too open to manipulation and fraud, which is fair enough. They prefer you to use trusted suppliers and official FBA channels.

You might feel a bit like Leo Dicaprio in Catch Me If You Can, staying one step ahead of the system. But, spoiler alert, it won’t feel quite so much fun when Amazon just blocks your account.

Secondly… even Dom Carney himself has had trouble with this model.

Dom knows that Amazon can just close your account, because they’ve closed his account before. Yeah, he’s managed to bounce back and open another account, so I suppose that’s proof that your Amazon dropshipping business can survive an account closure. But it still feels pretty stressful to me!

Dom has failed with other businesses in the past. I just hope he’s not going to do the same with this one!

Thirdly… dropshipping is a notoriously poor income stream.

Even if you manage to evade Jeff Bezos and his Amazon police. Even if you manage to keep your store open, against all the odds. Then what?

Dropshipping is famous for its low profit margins and its high failure rate. Yes, you might be able to keep on trading… but you’re still going to struggle to make money in such a saturated market.

I prefer something a bit more reliable… Digital Leasing.

Digital Leasing is all about local lead generation. You build your simple website in a specialized niche, and you generate amazing leads in your local area.

By leasing this site out to local business partners, you get a solid income stream, based on genuine value. And you provide a vital service to your local business community.

You own the site, so you’re not relying on someone else’s platform like Amazon. And you’re definitely not breaking any rules that could get you canceled!

You are the go-to in your niche, so there’s none of the market saturation or massive failure rate of the dropshipping model.

Maybe the best part… it’s semi-passive income. You run your business with just a few clicks, achieving six figures per month per website, over as many websites as you like.

So what will you do with all that freedom?

  • Take the trip of a lifetime?
  • Spend more time with the loved ones in your life?
  • Or finally take the time to write your novel or draft your screenplay?

It’s your call.

Hit the link to get started with Digital Leasing today.

Who Is Amazon Profit Guide For… And Who’s It NOT For?

Who Does It Benefit and Who It Doesn't

Dom Carney might imply that anyone can succeed online with this program, but I’m not so sure. So who can benefit, and who should probably leave it well alone?

Who’s It For…

You might find some success with this program, if…

  • You’re interested in dropshipping on Amazon without the FBA – Dom promises to help you boost your profit margins without using FBA, which might be an interesting model for some.
  • You like the Dominick Carney story – Dom Carney certainly has a cool story, and this might inspire you to follow in his footsteps.
  • You’re looking for a comprehensive dropshipping course – Dom Carney’s Amazon Profit Guide is fairly comprehensive, so you should find a lot to learn here.

Who’s It NOT For…

You probably won’t be getting much out of this, if…

  • You’re worried about catching heat from Amazon – Amazon is not the biggest fan of people dropshipping on their platform, so this might worry some people.
  • You’re not sure about the business model – If you don’t like the whole dropshipping business model, and many people don’t, this probably isn’t for you.
  • You’re concerned about the scam allegations – I did find a couple of allegations of scam behavior. While I don’t really agree myself, I can see why this might be a red flag.

The 1000 FT View On Amazon Profit Guide And Dom Carney

The 1000 FT View On Amazon Profit Guide And Dom Carney

This is where I like to take a breather. By taking a couple of steps back, we can get a full panoramic view of what the course is all about…

The Amazon Profit Guide Business Model

Time Investment2.0 / 5 starsThe time investment is not too bad when you’re actually working through the course, but I can’t score this very highly. I think you might find yourself working long hours trying to catch up, and the whole thing could be taken away from you at any time.
Level of Control1.3 / 5 starsDropshipping is not a very good business model for people who like control. Amazon dropshipping offers even lower levels of control, and you could get your account closed at any time.
Ease of Implementation2.9 / 5 starsTo be fair to Dom, I think he puts his methods across quite clearly and precisely, which means you should be able to implement his teachings quite easily.
Profit Potential2.0 / 5 starsI think Dom has certainly made some good money on this model, but I think the days of big dropshipping successes are over. Factor in the whole “Amazon account closure” risk aspect, and the profit potential is low.

The business model here is Amazon ecommerce…

Ok, so that means Amazon FBA then? Well… hold your horses, because Dominick is doing something different. He’s offering an Amazon dropshipping course, not FBA.

  • So you set up your Amazon store, and you create a load of product listings…
  • Customers browse your store, then they make a purchase…
  • You reach out to your supplier, pass on the customer’s details, and they ship the product…
  • You don’t handle any inventory, or packaging, or shipping, or anything like that…

It’s different from FBA because you don’t ship the product to the Amazon fulfillment center. You’re basically using Amazon as a digital storefront, and nothing else.

It’s worth noting that Amazon doesn’t really take too kindly to this. They don’t like the idea of sellers running their own wild west dropshipping empires when they could be paying FBA fees instead… and to be fair it does make them look bad if people are getting scammed by third party sellers on the Amazon platform.

While you might get a bit of a thrill from sticking it to Jeff Bezos, remember that he can bite back pretty hard too. If Amazon blocks your account, then you’re finished… so be careful.

How Much Does Amazon Profit Guide Cost?

A discounted rate for Amazon Profit Guide

Before you reach for that credit card, how much are you going to have to pay? What’s the Amazon Profit Guide cost?

Well, the course is supposed to cost $1,497. This is the “official” price I’ve found.

However… I’ve also seen it advertised at only $299.40. That’s a massive discount of about 80%!

Surely we’re not going to find this course any cheaper than that… but hold on one sec…

Here’s another vendor I found selling the program for only $197… going once, going twice!

An even bigger discount on the program

Seriously though, paying as little as possible for the program is probably the safest bet, as there’s a strict no refund policy.

How Is Amazon Profit Guide Different?

Amazon Profit Guide is different to something like Smart FBA, simply because it’s not actually an Amazon FBA course. Dom Carney teaches you about Amazon dropshipping, which is quite different.

It’s also different to other programs like the one from Biaheza, which focuses more on traffic generation via a strong social media presence and YouTube strategy. Amazon Profit Guide offers a more well rounded approach.

Ok, let’s take a look at who’s behind the program. Just who exactly is Dom Carney, and what is he all about?

Dom Carney has done it all. He certainly achieved some solid income from Amazon dropshipping, after learning all about this model from Tommy Rodriguez back in 2016, but there’s more strings to his bow than just this.

He has invested in real estate… which is usually a money-spinner if you do it right. He also runs an ATM business… he quite literally has his own set of ATMs!

A difficult beginning…

The old Dom Carney

But it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Dom. After watching his father work in the stock broker business, Dom vowed that he would run his own company. He got into this early, pulling a number of side hustles as a kid until he got a job when he was 16.

Working full-time, and even more than full-time when he needed extra money, really underlined how much Dom did not want to get trapped in this world. 9-to-5, or 8-to-6, or 7-to-whenever-the-place-closed-for-the-evening… didn’t really appeal to the young entrepreneur.

He was ready to fly, but life—and a series of bad choices—got in the way. He was charged with driving under the influence and wound up being declared bankrupt at the age of 19. This would have been game over for many people, but Dom was made of tough stuff.

He got back on track, trying a bunch of different ecommerce hustles. Shopify ecommerce, Amazon FBA, affiliate marketing, day trading… he gave them all a whirl and failed at all of them.

Some success, some more failure, and some success again…

There is a happy ending to all this, I promise you. Amazon dropshipping gave Dom the break he needed, and this Seattle, Washington resident finally got to turn his life around.

Today, he runs a number of different businesses and hustles, from Amazon dropshipping through to the real estate and ATM investments we already heard about.

Again, though, Dom Carney still has his fair share of setbacks. He’s had his Amazon account frozen a few times, which is far from ideal when your business models are mainly Amazon-based.

Still, he stuck at it, and nowadays, he’s got multiple streams of revenue. AboveAve is the catch-all brand that Dom Carney runs, bringing together these numerous different streams.

What’s The Dominick Carney Net Worth Figure?

Dom Carney working out

You’d expect this guru to have some good money behind him… but what sort of Dominick Carney net worth are we talking about here?

Well, this is a bit tricky to answer. I couldn’t find any reliable stats for his personal funds, but he seems to have done well from his business ventures.

He’s got a two-comma club award, and he’s built numerous companies that have turned over 7-figures in revenue. So, while I can’t put a concrete number on it, I’d say he’s doing pretty well.

Is Dominick Carney Legit?

Unconfirmed scam accusations against Dom Carney

This is a massive question… and I get that! No one wants to be scammed out here, so is Dominick Carney legit, or is there an Amazon Profit Guide scam going on?

I did find a few Dominick Carney reviews that use the word scam… but this is a pretty common occurence on the internet. People sign up for a course, they don’t get the big bucks ecommerce business success they expected, and so the yell “scam”.

The truth tends to be a little bit more subtle. I don’t think Dominick Carney is out to rip anyone off, but this doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to make it big with Amazon dropshipping.

Dom’s advice and training is fine, but the business model is a little worrying to me. You’re basically doing something that the majority of people fail with… dropshipping.

Even worse, you’re doing it on a platform where you’re not really supposed to be doing it. Amazon doesn’t like dropshippers very much, because the business model is hard for them to regulate. If you want to do some Amazon dropshipping, they would like you to use their own Amazon FBA services.

This puts you at risk. What happens if Amazon say enough is enough and block your account? Dropshipping is shaky enough as it is without adding this whole other aspect of uncertainty!

There’s are other issues here too. Visiting the AboveAve site in March 2024, I found there was a banner blocking it. The banner features an ad for ClickFunnels, and suggests that the site owner get in touch to remove it.

The banner blocking Dom's site.

I don’t know what Dom plans to do about this, but I’d say the site is not fully operational right now. This does happen from time to time… although I agree it’s not the most professional look.

What’s more worrying is that the course is still being offered on other websites. So I hope Dominick is still finding a way to support his online business students even while the site isn’t working properly.

Dom warning about impersonators

Lastly, the impersonators! Dom says to watch out for people pretending to be him online… which further adds to the uncertainty around the program.

My Personal Opinion On Amazon Profit Guide

My Personal Opinion: Scam or Legit?

Ok, so here’s my personal take on all these Dom Carney reviews…

I respect the guy’s hustle and I think he’s done very well after some early obstacles that almost derailed his career… but I just can’t recommend this one.

Before we get into it, he’s what I want to see from a program like this…

  1. Great coaching, mentoring, and materials…
  2. Big profit potential…
  3. Financial freedom, and real life freedom…

Will Dominick Carney’s Course Make You A Millionaire?

I don’t think so… that’s my honest answer.

No matter which way I try to look at it, there’s one thing that I can’t help but think about —the Amazon platform itself.

It’s like watching a bad horror movie. You know there’s a vampire right outside the door. You know those college kids should stay in the cabin, not run out into the scary forest. And yet you watch everyone make the same old horror movie mistakes… and they get picked off one by one.

If the last few years of ecommerce have taught us anything, it’s that Amazon always wins. You make mistakes—breaking the rules, for example, or avoiding the company’s FBA fees and charges—and Amazon can and will punish you for it.

I just can’t put this out of my head. Yes, Dominick Carney has made some good money from this business model, but the whole thing just seems to unreliable to me.

Here’s a quick look at how it stacks up…

  1. The coaching, mentoring and materials are fine… as long as you don’t mind the uncertainty around what you’re learning.
  2. The profits probably aren’t great (don’t forget this is dropshipping) but you might be able to get some returns… until Amazon blocks your account
  3. Freedom? I suppose you could make semi-passive income from this third party sellers approach, but only if everything goes without a hitch… and I don’t think you can count on this!

I prefer something with a bit more control and reliability… something you can actually build into your long-term plan.

This what makes Digital Leasing by far the better option.

  1. The coaching, mentoring and materials are some of the best I’ve seen in the industry…
  2. The profits can be huge with digital leasing… you’re operating in local lead generation, so there’s no risk of market saturation and there’s plenty of opportunity to become the leader in your online business niche.
  3. There’s real freedom, as you make more and more money via your semi-passive income stream.

And, of course, you’re in control. You own everything. You’re the boss. You’re in the driver’s seat. You’re not constantly looking over your shoulder, waiting for the powers that be to block your account.

What's Inside Amazon Profit Guide

You can’t make a decision on this program until you know exactly what’s inside. So let’s check it out…

The Amazon Profit Guide Mastermind Training

Introducing the Mastermind training

This is the main training program on Dom’s course. Here’s what you’ll get in the program…

  • Module #1: Entrepreneur Mindset

A lot of courses start with this, which is fair enough because mindset is important. Here, Dom helps you get your psychology and motivation in line, so you can start visualizing how you are going to succeed with this program and this business model.

  • Module #2: Tools

In the second module, Dom outlines the different tools and systems he himself uses for dropshipping and ecommerce. This is pretty useful because there are so many tools out there, and it’s hard to know what really works. It’s also great that Dominick gets into this practical advice nice and early in the program.

  • Module #3: Suppliers

Your business will thrive or fall according to the quality of your suppliers. In this module, you’ll gain access to a list of suppliers that Dominick, his partners, and his former students all use. He also offers information on which suppliers to avoid. Like with the tools, it’s really handy to know what works and what doesn’t.

  • Module #4: Amazon Product Research

Of course you need great products if you’re going to be successful in ecommerce. Dom teaches you how to find these profitable products, and quickly, so you can out pace your competitors.

  • Module #5: Order Fulfillment

Making the sale is just part of the battle. Next, you’ve got to make sure the product actually reaches your customer. And this is what module five is all about, providing a step-by-step guide to making sure the product gets where it needs to be.

  • Module #6: Customer Service And Scripts

Dominick hits yet another core tenet of ecommerce with this module… keeping your customers happy. He offers scripts that will help you overcome common customer problems, as well as training on providing the highest possible levels of customer service.

  • Module #7: Inventory

Inventory is another critical aspect of this business. You need to manage listings across huge numbers of products, and Dom helps you to make this simple and straightforward with automation. You can even use these automated tools to keep your prices competitive compared to market competitors.

  • Module #8: Dominating Competitors

Speaking of those competitors… how do you beat them? Well, module eight, is all about how you can achieve this, becoming the leader at the forefront of your market.

  • Module #9: Amazon Buy Box

The Amazon Buy Box is a useful extra, but it’s only for the top performing users. Module nine talks more about this, helping you to win that prestigious Buy Box, and how to even be eligible in the first place.

  • Module #10: Scaling Your Business

Last but certainly not least… this module is all about scaling and growth. Dom looks at how you can develop your store in a sustainable way, so you can start picking up those award milestone trophies.

  • Extra Coaching And Training

There are a number of bonus training modules, on things like using automation within your business, and outsourcing tasks to virtual assistants.

  • Using Business Credit

In this resource, Dom gives you a guide to using credit to grow your business. Apparently, this is what he does himself…

  • Live Coaching

Dom offers one-to-one live coaching to members. Just bear in mind this probably won’t be provided by Dom himself, but by a member of his team.

  • Interview And Case Study Resources

Information from former student success stories, offering inspiration and guidance for people who enrol in the course.

  • Awards And Recognition

New members receive a mystery boxes full of gifts and prizes. You can also receive a trophy when you hit your key milestones, like $10,000, $50,000, and $100,000.

  • Amazon Profit Guide Facebook Group

This is where the Mastermind students get to interact with one another, sharing wins and guidance with other members. If you’re actively trading, you’ll need to post your sales dashboard on a weekly basis. The best sellers get rewards.

While this might seem like it adds a bit of pressure, it does at least keep the group active and engaged. Although when I checked the group out in March 2024, there didn’t seem to be many members.

My Dominick Carney Reviews Roundup – The Conclusion

Dom Carney

Ok, let’s bring my Dominick Carney review to an end. What’s my conclusion here?

I’d say that Dom Carney has had a bit of a rollercoaster of a career. He’s tried loads of businesses, and I’m sure he won’t mind me saying things haven’t always been easy for him.

It seems like the Amazon dropshipping model (basically his own version of Amazon FBA) has finally made Dom Carney a success. But I just don’t think it’s going to do the same for you.

Call me old fashioned… but I prefer business models where there’s no danger of the rug being pulled out from under you at any moment. I prefer models where you’re in control and you’re the boss of the business.

With Amazon dropshipping, it just feels like you’re operating on borrowed time. Yeah, you might make a bit of money. But it’s not sustainable in the long term.

So what’s the alternative?

You might want to take a look at one of my reviews… like this blog on the Full Dropshipping Course.

Imagine taking 3 months off to just tour around Europe, rent a cabin in the woods to write a book, hike the Appalachian Trail, or live on the beach and surf all day.

I suppose this could happen Dom Carney and his Amazon dropshipping course, but don’t count on it. It really depends on everything… and I mean everything… working as it should. There’s just too much that can go wrong with this model, and you might find yourself fighting fires and playing catch-up.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: Control is a serious problem with the Dom Carney program. You’re only one misstep away from getting a big penalty off Amazon. You might even get your account shut down. If that happens, it’s curtains for your profits!

With Digital Leasing, you own all the assets, which means you have all the power and all the control.

Each Digital Rental Property is worth $500 to $2,000 a month in semi-passive income (over 95% profit). It gets easier every time you decide to create another one and increase your income.

How do you double your profits in Amazon dropshipping? Well you could sell for twice as much, you could make twice as many sales, or you could source products for half the price. None of these options are as easily scalable as Digital Leasing.

5) Make Money Helping Real People: Small, local business owners need more customers, and with Digital Leasing, you are unleashing a flood of happy, paying customers for these businesses.

You make money by helping them make money. This part is what makes it all worth it… helping a small business owner in your community. That’s how Digital Leasing makes a real impact in the lives of real people.
