The Penny Hoarder Review (2023 Update): Everything You Wanted To Know!

By: Brittney

Welcome to my The Penny Hoarder review. My goal is to help you understand what the program is all about, how much it costs, if it’s a good use of your time, your money, and much more! It should be less than 10 minutes start to finish, so let’s dive in!
This The Penny Hoarder review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available online to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

There is another business model

Firstly, Why Am I Writing This Review?

Nice to meet you, my name is Brittney!

My story starts  like many do… “slaving away” at a 9-5 job that I didn’t really enjoy, but hey – it paid the bills.

I worked for a large Fortune 500 company that performed background checks for other companies when they wanted to hire a new employee… so you know, not exactly exciting stuff.

For a lot of people, a nice stable job and predictable check coming in every month is the picture of success, but for me, it felt like I was missing out on life.

Clocking in every single day, doing the same tasks over and over again, getting home with barely enough time to make dinner and enjoy some time to myself… only to wake up again the next morning and do it all over again.

I just wanted to enjoy life without being shackled to an unfilling job.

I wanted to be able to take vacations whenever I wanted, for however long I wanted.

I didn’t want to have to beg my boss for a salary increase that barely matched inflation.

I just wanted to be free and happy.

Then about 4 years ago (as a stroke of luck), I stumbled across a program that taught me how to make money online by actually helping real people (local US businesses).

my concrete site

The image above shows an example. This mini website brings me in around $1,250 every single month, and I haven’t touched it in over 2 years.

That’s $15,000 per year in my pocket without having to really do anything.

Just helping small mom-and-pop shops keep their lights on and grow.

So it makes sense why local lead generation is my top online business for passive income. If you’re curious how that business model works, you can read more here.

NOTE: I DO NOT WORK WITH The Penny Hoarder

Who Cares About That?

99% of reviewers out there don’t have experience running an actual business. They’re writing about stuff that they have no real experience with.

Why would they do that?

They just want you to click through and buy the  program that the review is about!

I have absolutely no relationship with The Penny Hoarder, so you can rest easy knowing that I’m going to give you my honest opinion.

This review is written based on my own experiences with this business model.

All that being said, let’s jump into things.

The Penny Hoarder Reviews

A privately held personal finance website called The Penny Hoarder is devoted to assisting its readers in leading a simpler, more cost-efficient lifestyle. The Penny Hoarder was established in 2010 by Taylor Media’s CEO, Kyle Taylor.

Factual and thoroughly researched content to earn money is published by The Penny Hoarder. They provide:

  • news coverage,
  • first-person accounts of individuals’ attempts to achieve financial freedom, and
  • Original articles with a personal finance angle.

I do want to be honest here, so…

There are countless information courses floating around the internet. Why? Because for every problem that exists, someone claims to have the solution.

And that solution is usually some oddball money-making system that tells you how to turn a casual interest – or maybe something you’re super passionate about – into sustainable, reliable income.

Just like The Penny Hoarder Review, Here’s the hard truth, though…

Most of these programs:

  • Take way more time than you’re led to believe
  • They May have hidden fees
  • Require you to buy multiple upsells in order to get the “real” information

But most importantly, a lot of these programs just don’t scale.

“Scale” means once you do the work to make a little money, it should get easier to make more money, not harder.

The problem is, that most programs out there make it hard to make money at first, and even harder to keep making money.

In other words, you might be able to make some money in the beginning, but it won’t be sustainable and you’ll end up getting discouraged.

This is the exact opposite of passive income.

When income is truly passive, you do the work upfront, but then you set it and forget it. The money gets made whether you’re working or not. It’s not directly tied to the hours you put in.

So, what if there was a way you could build a passive income stream that’s actually passive?

An income stream that doesn’t require:

  • Inventory
  • Selling to friends and family
  • Selling to strangers
  • Recruiting people
  • Dealing with questionable products that weigh on your conscience

An income stream that brings in consistent revenues every single month (from a couple of thousand dollars to well over $10,000)?

An income stream you could actually build in your spare time, and grow as large or as small as you want to, without having to spend hours a day chasing, selling, or managing anything?

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, check out Digital Real Estate.

This is nothing like a personal finance website, and that’s probably a good thing.

Making Money With The Penny Hoarder Website

Save Money

Before discussing making money from the Penny Hoarder website, it is important first to understand what it is. I have always loved this website. Because of this, I’ve followed them on social media for more than a year and check their website whenever they publish new content.

I consider myself a minimalist,; Ican’t help but love Penny Hoarder’s writing style and the topics she covers. But lately, I’ve started looking at the website more carefully to see if it can help me locate a great side job.

The Penny Hoarder presents a surprising amount of opportunity for those looking to supplement their income…

How Does The Penny Hoarder Work?

How Does It Work

The Penny Hoarder posts some of its money-making opportunities as well as research and information for people who want to earn extra money on the side over a year.

Every day, the website publishes more than 20 items. The Penny Hoarder has sections titled “Make Money,” “Deals,” “Food,” “WFH,” “Smart Money,” “Life,” and “Academy.” Along with the written content, original video, photo, and infographic pieces were available.

The Basics

The Basics

If you visit the About Page of, you’ll discover this… The website’s description is without a doubt ,accurate.

There are more than 2 million email subscribers, 5.7 million Facebook fans, and 13 million monthly readers. It is the world’s private media company with the fastest growth rate.

When it comes to personal finance, Penny Hoarder does a lot of the legwork, which comes from their articles on making extra money. On their website, you can find an entire section dedicated to making extra money, and you can see a link to it in the main menu tab across the page.

The ‘Make Money’ tab is where you’ll find it.

However, what sort of chances are there on this page? Is the information you’re reading going to benefit you, or are you just reading generic fluff?

In my investigation, I’ve compiled my thoughts on the subject here.

Is It Possible To Make Money With The Penny Hoarder’s Suggested Investments?

Money Tab

The make Money tab consists of four sections.

  1. Jobs
  2. Side Gigs
  3. WFH (Work From Home)
  4. Career

Before being addressed, each of these subsections is thoroughly examined.

So, first things first: jobs.

Jobs On Penny Hoarder

On this page, countless articles detail the application processes for various jobs. Writing tasks for product reviews are mentioned in articles on Yelp’s employment opportunities. The company also publishes articles that people who have obtained unusual employment have written. The authors discuss their experiences and guide how to get a position of a similar nature.

The way that Penny Hoarder keeps things up to date is excellent. They publish items to these sites almost every day. They also seem to spend a lot of time and effort exploring these different possibilities.

Seriously, this site has a lot of weird and beautiful opportunities listed on it! It’s cool, but it also shows how much work they must be putting in, which is impressive in and of itself.

Side Gigs On Penny Hoarder

Side Gigs

This website area resembles the Jobs section in many ways, except that some of these articles describe more “temporary opportunities.”

The Information on writing competitions, survey websites, and similar opportunities includes on this page.

If you’re looking for a side gig, you might want to check out this section of the site… even though they also keep track of more long-term gigs here. Everything is always up to date, and the content is always of the highest caliber.

Work From Home Gigs On Penny Hoarder

Work From Home

The only focus of this website section is work-at-home opportunities. They publish everything, including detailed job descriptions that you may apply for right away and how-to articles.

It’s all about working from home, which is even better.

Penny Hoarder does a great job of finding unusual job openings, making their website appealing to people like me who are constantly looking for new and different things to do.

Career Opportunities On Penny Hoarder

Career Opportunities

As far as I can tell, their website’s Career section is far more concentrated on subjects like creating a solid LinkedIn profile, negotiating a salary, and performing job interviews.

A collection of “tricks and tips” is simpler to locate than actual employment opportunities. However, there is no denying that it is a valuable site.

Can You Make Money With Penny Hoarder?

Can You Make Money

The Penny Hoarder is unavailable for financial gain. There are just resources for creating extra money, budgeting, and saving money on the website unless you’re always searching online for side jobs that could pay you some money.

You could write for them as a freelancer, but the market is incredibly cutthroat. Although some people occasionally earn a little cash from the website, it is not a platform for making money. No assurance that reading about them on the website will help you land your dream job.

The Penny Hoarder is not a money-making website but jam-packed with great personal finance information.

Is The Penny Hoarder A Scam?

Is it a scam?

So, is The Penny Hoarder a scam? Not technically. You can make money with this program, but it’s definitely not as easy as Taylor Media, make it sound.

There’s a ton of work to be done upfront, no real guarantee of success, and – most importantly – it doesn’t scale.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with front-loading the work and making the money later.

But if you’re grinding it out for 3 months and then your reward is being forced to grind it out for another 9 months before seeing any “real money,” well…that’s not a great deal, is it?

What if, instead, you could do that same 3 months of work (in your spare time), and your reward was a $500 to $2,000 payment that came in every single month?

And what if you actually didn’t need to wait 3 months? What if you could get started today and have your first payment in a week?

And what if you could double it next week?

Well, that’s the power of Digital Real Estate

And you can legitimately do this from anywhere. It’s a true lifestyle business.

Your laptop and an internet connection is all you need.

Some of the most successful students in this program run their entire 6-figure businesses from:

  • A camper in the middle of the woods
  • A beach chair on the water in Mexico
  • A small villa in Greece

They’re able to travel around, living their lives first, nd focusing on their income second.

Because even if they stop working for an extended period of time, the money keeps coming in.

So adventure, memories, and experience are the top priority.

And they never have to worry about how to pay for the next trip, or consider asking for time off.

Are There Alternatives To The Penny Hoarder?

are there alternatives

Yes, there are plenty of other business models to choose from if you want to pursue making money online.  Here are just a few:

What Is My Top Recommendation In Making Money Online In 2023?

Digital Real Estate

Our review team has spent months researching, reviewing, and vetting dozens of business models and thousands of programs.

While there may be no “perfect business”, ,”e research IS conclusive:

Digital Real Estate is the #1 online business model for those just starting out.

Whether you’ve never made a dollar online, or you’ve been in this space for a while but never really “made it,” Digital Real Estate is for you.

1) It’s Flexible: got an hour a day? You can do this. Ready to drop everything else and dive in full time? You can do this. Yes, the more time you put in, the faster you see results. But even with a little time each day, you can move the needle in a Digital Real Estate business.

And because this system is so flexible, you don’t have to constantly be working to make more money. It’s called PASSIVE INCOME because if you stop working, the money doesn’t.

Imagine taking 3 months off to just tour around Europe, rent a cabin in the woods to write a book, hike the Appalachian Trail, or live on the beach and surf all day.

This is only possible if you have an income stream that’s not tied to your time.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: With personal finance website, you don’t really own anything. You have no control over the quality of products. You don’t even own your “business”.
Look at the fine print for most of the agreements folks sign when they join one of these companies. At any point, the company can change your commission structure, reduce your profit margins, or kick you out entirely.
With Digital Real Estate, you own the assets, which means you have all the power and all the control.

3) Little To No Startup Costs: It’s possible to get into Digital Real Estate with zero dollars upfront. Because, using the strategies outlined in this program, you can get a client to pay you BEFORE spending a penny out of your own pocket…even before you do any work.

Even without getting paid in advance, you can have your first Digital Rental Property up, running, and generating profits for less than $100.

4) Easy To Duplicate: Ok, here’s the best part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up and running, you can literally DOUBLE your income with a few clicks, a couple keystrokes, and a single phone call (and you don’t actually need the phone call).

Remember: each Digital Rental Property is worth $500 to $2,000 a month in semi-passive income (over 95% profit). Every time you decide to create another one and increase your income, it gets easier.

Because you have more knowledge, more experience, more results, and more momentum.

If you wanted to double your income with The Penny Hoarder, you’d probably need to double the number of hours you spend working. Because, again, this program doesn’t scale.

5) Make Money Helping Real People: With Digital Real Estate, you’re actually helping people by solving your clients’ biggest problem:

Small, local businesses need more customers, and with Digital Real Estate, you are unleashing a flood of happy, paying customers for these businesses.

You make money by helping them make money.

Not a big, faceless corporation either…a small business owner who’s using that money to put food on the table for their family, start a college fund for their kids, or take care of a sick parent.

Once you see how Digital Real Estate makes a real impact in the lives of real people, you’ll sleep like a baby with a big smile on your face.

Now, the choice is yours. You could continue browsing, looking at opportunities like The Penny Hoarder, which could one day make you money.

You could continue researching, never making a decision.

OR, you could take a look inside, consider what you really want, and join a program that makes your dreams a reality. At the same time, joining a community of over 2,000 successful students that are living life on their own terms thanks to Digital Real Estate.

A consistent, reliable, semi-passive stream of income that doesn’t depend on you or your time to keep producing profits.

All while genuinely helping real people who are grateful and happy to pay for it.
