Limelife MLM Review (2024): Scam or Legit?

By: Brittney

Welcome to my Limelife MLM Review Review. My goal is to help you understand what the program is all about, how much it costs, if it's a good use of your time, your money, and much more! It should be less than 10 minutes start to finish, so let's dive in!

Disclaimer:

This Limelife MLM Review review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

Firstly, Why Am I Writing The Review?

Nice to meet you, my name is Brittney!

My story starts like many do… “slaving away” at a 9-5 job that I didn’t really enjoy, but hey – it paid the bills.

I worked for a large Fortune 500 company that performed background checks for other companies when they wanted to hire a new employee… so you know, not exactly exciting stuff.

For a lot of people, a nice stable job and predictable check coming in every month is the picture of success, but for me, it felt like I was missing out on life.

Clocking in every single day, doing the same tasks over and over again, getting home with barely enough time to make dinner and enjoy some time to myself… only to wake up again the next morning and do it all over again.

I just wanted to enjoy life without being shackled to an unfilling job.

I wanted to be able to take vacations whenever I wanted, for however long I wanted.

I didn’t want to have to beg my boss for a salary increase that barely matched inflation.

I just wanted to be free and happy.

Then about 4 years ago (as a stroke of luck), I stumbled across a program that taught me how to make money online by actually helping real people (local US businesses).

Who Cares About That?

99% of reviewers out there don’t have experience running an actual business. They’re writing about stuff that they have no real experience with.

Why would they do that?

They just want you to click through and buy the program that the review is about!

I have absolutely no relationship with J Rich, so you can rest easy knowing that I’m going to give you my honest opinion.

This review is written based on my own experiences with this business model.

All that being said, let’s jump into things.

What Is LimeLife MLM?

It’s yet another of those MLM (aka Network Marketing) programs whose major goal is to sign you up, buy a product kit, and then get you to sign up your friends, family, and coworkers to do the same.

To be honest, it’s promoted by distributors in the hopes that you’ll join their downline and give them a cut of your sales. Yes, you read that correctly…

They want you to join so that they can make more money FROM YOU.

It’s meant to show you how to be a great “Network Marketer,” yet most members make very little money promoting their products.

Now, just to be completely transparent here…

Chances are you heard about Limelife because someone – a friend or family member – introduced you to the company. Maybe you attended an online workshop or webinar, or maybe an in-person information session.

Your head’s probably spinning. This might be the first time you’ve heard about a real way to make money outside of a typical job.

So first off, congratulations!

You’ve just entered a whole new world…the world of making money on your own terms.

However, you came in through the wrong door.

Because Limelife is – plain and simple – an MLM. Throw whatever fancy name you want on it…multi-level marketing (MLM), network marketing (NWM), direct sales, or anything else, it’s the same concept:

You pay some money upfront for the “opportunity” to sell products.

The products are typically low-quality but with high price tags (because fancy labels and stuff).

You’re told that the key to building your own successful business is selling these products to friends and family, and getting them on a subscription (so you get “monthly recurring revenue”).

Unfortunately, like most people who get taken in by these types of schemes, you’ll quickly discover that the well runs dry faster than you imagined.

After all, they make it sound really simple. “Just get 5 people you know onto this magic widget, and things will just grow from there.”

And in your head, you think “How hard can it be? I know plenty of people, 5 will be easy.”

But then you do it, and you realize people look at you like you’ve joined a cult. You’ve become “that person”, who joined an MLM, and is now trying to sell questionable products or services to everyone they meet.

It puts a strain on your relationships, and you end up stuck between two worlds.

But it’s not your fault. These companies spend millions of dollars each year figuring out exactly how to brainwash and recruit people. And that’s why we’re here.

To help you find a better way before it’s too late.

So, what if there was a way you could build a passive income stream that’s actually passive?

An income stream that doesn’t require:

  • Inventory
  • Selling to friends and family
  • Selling to strangers
  • Recruiting people
  • Dealing with questionable products that weigh on your conscience

An income stream that brings in consistent revenues every single month (from a couple thousand dollars to well over $10,000)?

An income stream you could actually build in your spare time, and grow as large or as small as you want to, without having to spend hours a day chasing, selling, or managing anything?

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, check out Digital Leasing.

This is nothing like MLM, and that’s probably a good thing.

However, if you’d still like to know more about Limelife, keep reading.

LimeLife Review

LimeLife is a multi-level marketing organization that sells cosmetics and skin care products as a business opportunity.

In this review, I will discuss its structure, product line, and, most importantly, whether or not this MLM company is legit or a pyramid scheme like the majority of MLMs today.

We’ll look at several aspects of LimeLife to see if it truly is the best network marketing platform out there.

We’ll also discuss if network marketing is the best online business model for you.

LimeLife By Alcone MLM Overview

Name: LimeLife by Alcone

Owners: Michele Gay & Madison Mallardi; L’Occitane en Provence

Price to join: Starter Kit: $169 (one-time purchase); $9.95 per month for your replicated website; $75 annual renewal fee

Official Website: limelifebyalcone.com

What Is LimeLife By Alcone?

An overview of Limelife By Alcone

It was originally known as LimeLight by Alcone, but it has now been rebranded to LimeLife by Alcone.

Since it started in 1952, it has been in the MLM industry specializing in skincare and cosmetic products.

That’s almost 70 years.

But is LimeLife trustworthy since it has been around longer than Rock & Roll?

LimeLife, in its early days, distributed professional makeup products to those in the entertainment industry.

What began as a small store selling stage makeup to artists has since grown into a big company.

Since then, it has expanded, renamed, reorganized, and added new items to its product line. It has since evolved into what is currently known as LimeLife by Alcone.

This brand is quite new, although it is still owned by the same company. They have gone through several rebrandings, the most recent being in 2018.

I’m just curious as to why they had to rebrand so many times. When a company rebrands, it is typically because the previous branding is no longer attracting customers.

That, or to avoid getting a bad rep for scamming people.

Hmm?

Are LimeLife’s Products Worth The Price?

The price of the product ranges from $20 to $150.

LimeLife by Alcone says that its skincare and cosmetic products are manufactured from organic and natural ingredients that are free of chemicals and harmful substances.

I’m not sure how truthful this is because I’ve seen a lot of concerns and issues with the “all natural” claim.

Plus, I believe LimeLife’s products are a little pricey. They are most likely overpriced as a result of the commissions paid to MLM downlines.

The LimeLife MLM Business Opportunity

LimeLife by Alcone is a network marketing company that offers two ways to make money.

The first is that when you become a LimeLife by Alcone member, you become a “Beauty Guide,” which sells their beauty and skincare products and recruit people to join the MLM company.

The second step is to recruit others to do the same.

Does this sound familiar?

To begin selling the products as a “Beauty Guide,” you would need to purchase a starter kit. The starter kits are classified into two categories, which I will go through in the next part.

To sign up, just go to their website and fill out their registration form.

How Much Does It Cost To Join LimeLife?

LimeLife by Alcone comes in two starter kits:

  1. The Business Starter Kit is available in one variant, which costs $99.
  2. The Silver Business Starter Kit comes in 4 variations and costs $169. You may choose from four options in this starter kit.

Check out the screenshots of the starter kits below. You will be needing one as a LimeLife beauty guide.

You can choose between the Business Starter Kit or the Silver Business Starter Kit for $169 if you have enough money that you’ll need to purchase in your first year. The silver kit gives you the advantage of choosing between four different variants.

If you go to their website, you’ll see that you must first purchase a starter kit before being directed to their registration form.

Let’s see how much it will cost you for the first year.

  • Business Starter Kit for $99 + Website fees for a year for $119.40. This comes out to a total cost of $218.40 for the first year of business when using the basic business starter kit.
  • Silver Business Starter Kit at $169 + Website Fees for 12 Months at $119.40 = $288.40 for the first year using the Silver Business Starter Kit.

To be honest, the costs aren’t all that high…

My major concern is not the fees themselves, but the “cost” of working as a beauty guide in an MLM business scheme.

They would expect you to organize “home parties,” which are not cheap. In most cases, your friends and family will be the first possible prospects you meet at these house parties. And it frequently leads to unpleasant results.

Aside from this arrangement, like with other MLMs, you’ll most certainly receive follow-up calls from your upline, which are frequently highly aggressive and pushy.

According to some of the accounts I’ve heard, they were constantly telling them to “push more” or even to “stop being lazy.”

This, and other factors, are among the reasons why the majority of their beauty guides cancel or quit the program.

In my opinion (and I’m pretty confident most will agree to me), MLM isn’t the best business model for 2021.

Can You Really Make Money With LimeLife?

Yes, you can…

But there’s a lot that comes along with MLM that many people struggle with.

In fact, check out the Top 5 Reason Why Most Network Marketers Fail.

Now, don’t get me wrong…

You can certainly make money with MLM, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to do this business (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money while you’re learning the ropes.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $40,000+ per month is so simple that making money really does become second nature.

If you join the LimeLife MLM, you will be able to make up to 35% commissions.

You will not, however, be able to get this right away. To understand what I mean, have a look at their compensation plan.

You will also get a share of your team’s overall sales if you opt to lead a team.

You may view their compensation plan PDF to see your potential earnings for each sale you make, as well as how much you can make off the sales of others.

Here are 9 different ways a LimeLife by Alcone beauty guide is compensated:

  1. Base Commission
  2. Fast Start Incentives
  3. Enhanced Commission
  4. Certified Mentor Bonus
  5. Direct Enroller Bonus
  6. Leadership Bonus
  7. Leader Generation Bonus
  8. Executive Bonuses
  9. Car/ Lifestyle Bonus

It is completely up to you whether you choose to work as a full-time or part-time beauty guide. Here’s a basic breakdown on how to get started:

  1. First, choose a starter kit. Do you want the $99 Business Starter Kit or the $169 Silver Business Starter Kit with 4 variants? Both starter kits include helpful resources to get you started.
  2. You will be creating a relipcated website here, which is a clear red flag.
  3. Acceptance and consent to their rules and regulations is the third step.

LimeLife By Alcone Red Flags

The first red flag is clearly their lack of transparency. They don’t say how much money you could make if you choose to lead a team.

I don’t personally like MLM and won’t spend money on it, thus I can’t say if they really provide this information.

The “replicated” website is the second red flag.

Consider the following:

How are you going to attract people to visit that website?

Sure, the SEO will be bad.

Do you need to blog to get traffic?

Could you use social media?

Or, why not pay for PPC ads?

LimeLife MLM Complaints

I’ve heard a lot of unpleasant complaints from Beauty Guides, both regarding the MLM business model and the products they sell.

When customers cancel, it appears that the LimeLife MLM model does not wish to refund their money.

I’ve heard a lot of reports of people trying to cancel before the next billing cycle, only to be invoiced for several months thereafter.

What’s Limelife’s usual excuse?

It’s the contract that members sign upon joining, as well as several other excuses, despite the fact that lots of their beauty guides have canceled.

LimeLife continues to charge them month after month, despite their beauty guides’ multiple attempts to cancel. That is shady and wrong in my opinion.

The screenshots below are from Better Business Bureau complaints (BBB) about LimeLife by Alcone.

bbb complaint 1

While the complaints above are all about the MLM model, the complaint below is about the products and is from a woman who may need to visit a dermatologist after using their cosmetics.

bbb complaint 2
bbb complaint 3

These are only a few samples of complaints concerning Alcone’s LimeLife. Unfortunately, the Better Business Bureau website contains a lot more info.

Pros and Cons of limelife mlm

Pros Of LimeLife MLM

  1. Their online application process is simple. You may choose between their two tiers of starting kits, the $99 Business Starter Kit and the $169 Silver Business Kit. The starting packages include a selection of cosmetics as well as some instruction.
  2. I think the start-up costs for LimeLife’s MLM business opportunity are pretty reasonable. It’s also worth mentioning that a year’s subscription in the Beauty Guide costs $75. Plus , you will be charged a monthly cost of $9.95 for each replicated website.
  3. Training is always helpful, regardless of the sort of business you pursue. I’m not sure how useful or extensive LimeLife’s MLM training is, though, because I’m not interested in being one of their beauty guides.

Cons Of LimeLife MLM

  1. It will be difficult to sell and get new recruits to build your downline using the MLM business model.
  2. From what I’ve read, canceling your LimeLife MLM membership looks to be a hard process.
  3. Some people have bad reaction to the LimeLife by Alcone products. Limelife by Alcone makes bold claims that its products are chemical-free and are professional grade makeup, however some say that they are not since the products have negative effects on their customers’ skin.
  4. Replicated websites will not rank. To rank high and drive targeted traffic to your business, you’ll need to put in a lot of work by writing a lot of optimized content. Rather than joining an MLM, you might build a website for an affiliate marketing business.
  5. You must pay a $75 yearly charge to continue your membership in this MLM scheme. In addition, there is a $9.95 monthly website fee. Total yearly cost – $9.95 x 12 = $119.40.  To achieve a total of 194.40, add $75. There is also a monthly minimum of $300 in sales that you must meet in order to keep your membership as a beauty guide active.

Is LimeLife MLM A Pyramid Scheme Or A Scam?

So, is Limelife a scam?

Not technically. You can make money with this program, but it’s definitely not as easy as the company makes it sound.

There’s a ton of work to be done upfront, no real guarantee of success, and – most importantly – the actual commissions are pretty small.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with front-loading the work and making the money later.

But if you’re grinding it out for 3 months and then your reward is a $50 commission, it’s not really worth it.

What if, instead, you could do that same 3 months of work (in your spare time), and your reward was a $500 to $2,000 payment that came in every single month?

And what if you actually didn’t need to wait 3 months? What if you could get started today and have your first payment in a week?

And what if you could double it next week?

Well, that’s the power of Digital Leasing

And, unlike an MLM, you can legitimately do this from anywhere. It’s a true lifestyle business.

Your laptop and an internet connection is all you need.

Some of the most successful students in this program run their entire 6-figure businesses from:

  • A camper in the middle of the woods
  • A beach chair on the water in Mexico
  • A small villa in Greece

They’re able to travel around, living their lives first, and focusing on their income second.

Because even if they stop working for an extended period of time, the money keeps coming in.

So adventure, memories, and experience are the top priority.

And they never have to worry about how to pay for the next trip, or consider asking for time off.

What Is My Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2024?

Our review team has spent months researching, reviewing, and vetting dozens of business models and thousands of programs.

While there may be no “perfect business”, the research IS conclusive:

Digital Leasing is the #1 online business model for those just starting out.

Whether you’ve never made a dollar online, or you’ve been in this space for a while but never really “made it,” Digital Leasing is for you.

Why?

1) It’s Flexible: got an hour a day? You can do this. Ready to drop everything else and dive in full time? You can do this. Yes, the more time you put in, the faster you see results. But even with a little time each day, you can move the needle in a Digital Leasing business.

And because this system is so flexible, you don’t have to constantly be working to make more money. It’s called PASSIVE INCOME because if you stop working, the money doesn’t.

Imagine taking 3 months off to just tour around Europe, rent a cabin in the woods to write a book, hike the Appalachian Trail, or live on the beach and surf all day.

This is only possible if you have an income stream that’s not tied to your time.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: With MLMs and Network Marketing, you don’t really own anything. You have no control over the quality of products. You don’t even own your “team”.

Look at the fine print for most of the agreements folks sign when they join one of these companies. At any point, the company can change your commission structure, reduce your profit margins, or kick you out entirely.

With Digital Leasing, you own the assets, which means you have all the power and all the control.

3) Little To No Startup Costs: It’s possible to get into Digital Leasing with zero dollars upfront. Because, using the strategies outlined in this program, you can get a client to pay you BEFORE spending a penny out of your own pocket…even before you do any work.

Even without getting paid in advance, you can have your first Digital Rental Property up, running, and generating profits for less than $100.

4) No Inventory: Alright, so most MLMs don’t make you buy the products and fill your garage with them anymore (unlike the good ol’ days), but you’re still in a physical products business.

And physical products always have physical limitations. Even if you don’t have to manage the inventory, you still have to deal with supply chain shortages that cause major delays.

Imagine finally landing your first customer, and then losing them after one sale because they had to wait 6 weeks to get their order.

With Digital Leasing, a 100% online business, you never even have to think about that risk.

5) Easy To Duplicate: Ok, here’s the best part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up and running, you can literally DOUBLE your income with a few clicks, a couple keystrokes, and a single phone call (and you don’t actually need the phone call).

Remember: each Digital Rental Property is worth $500 to $2,000 a month in semi-passive income (over 95% profit). Every time you decide to create another one and increase your income, it gets easier.

Because you have more knowledge, more experience, more results, and more momentum.

If you wanted to double your income with an MLM, you’d have to double your customers OR double the average order size of your existing customers. And, guaranteed that’s a lot harder than a few clicks and a few minutes of your life.

6) Make Money Helping Real People: This part is what makes it all worth it. In an MLM, your “upline” might convince you that what you’re selling improves people’s lives, but deep down, you likely know that’s not true.

Most of the time, you’re either selling a dream or a poor-quality, overpriced product with a fancy label.

And that makes it pretty hard to sleep at night.

But with Digital Leasing, you’re actually helping people by solving your clients’ biggest problem:

Small, local businesses need more customers, and with Digital Leasing, you are unleashing a flood of happy, paying customers for these businesses.

You make money by helping them make money.

Not a big, faceless corporation either…a small business owner who’s using that money to put food on the table for their family, start a college fund for their kids, or take care of a sick parent.

Once you see how Digital Leasing makes a real impact in the lives of real people, you’ll sleep like a baby with a big smile on your face.

Now, the choice is yours.

You could continue browsing, looking at opportunities like Limelife which could one day make you money.

You could continue researching, never making a decision.

OR, you could take a look inside, consider what you really want, and join a program that makes your dreams a reality. At the same time, joining a community of over 2,000 successful students that are living life on their own terms thanks to Digital Leasing.

A consistent, reliable, semi-passive stream of income that doesn’t depend on you or your time to keep producing profits.

All while genuinely helping real people who are grateful and happy to pay for it.

If this sounds more like what you want out of life (or if you just want some nice side income), click here to learn more about Digital Leasing.
