Amway MLM Review: Scam or Legit?

By: Brittney

Welcome to my Review. My goal is to help you understand what the program is all about, how much it costs, if it's a good use of your time, your money, and much more! It should be less than 10 minutes start to finish, so let's dive in!

Disclaimer:

This review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

Firstly, Why Am I Writing The Review?

Nice to meet you, my name is Brittney!

My story starts like many do… “slaving away” at a 9-5 job that I didn’t really enjoy, but hey – it paid the bills.

I worked for a large Fortune 500 company that performed background checks for other companies when they wanted to hire a new employee… so you know, not exactly exciting stuff.

For a lot of people, a nice stable job and predictable check coming in every month is the picture of success, but for me, it felt like I was missing out on life.

Clocking in every single day, doing the same tasks over and over again, getting home with barely enough time to make dinner and enjoy some time to myself… only to wake up again the next morning and do it all over again.

I just wanted to enjoy life without being shackled to an unfilling job.

I wanted to be able to take vacations whenever I wanted, for however long I wanted.

I didn’t want to have to beg my boss for a salary increase that barely matched inflation.

I just wanted to be free and happy.

Then about 4 years ago (as a stroke of luck), I stumbled across a program that taught me how to make money online by actually helping real people (local US businesses).

Who Cares About That?

99% of reviewers out there don’t have experience running an actual business. They’re writing about stuff that they have no real experience with.

Why would they do that?

They just want you to click through and buy the program that the review is about!

I have absolutely no relationship with J Rich, so you can rest easy knowing that I’m going to give you my honest opinion.

This review is written based on my own experiences with this business model.

All that being said, let’s jump into things.

What Is Amway?

It’s another one of those making money online programs that is centered around selling a clapped out membership that supposedly makes you money by selling other people’s shit.

It is promoted by damn near every high level course member who only gets paid through their affiliate links to the course. Yep, you read that right…

Sellouts, it’s promoted by sellouts.

It’s supposed to show you how to become a “multi level marketer” but most members don’t make money promoting other products.

That’s just the truth…you won’t get rich off a shitty $6 commission

If you want to really get rich online, (at an average of $1,500 per sale PER MONTH), check out our #1 recommendation here.

And while we have to be honest for this review…

Amway does come with some very helpful information to make money online and land some massive commission checks…

But it’s outdated AF!

At the end, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Amway and cheap network marketing in general.

And most importantly, I’ll show you the exact system I used to build my own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.

This system made me swear off network marketing for good, because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!

But more on that later.

For now let’s hop into all things Amway!

Who Is Entrepreneur Richard Devos?

Entrepreneur Richard Devos

Richard Devos is the Co-Founder of Amway with Jay Van Andel, and the company is based in Ada, Michigan.

We are sad to tell you that Richard Devos passed away on September 6th, 2018, in Ada, Michigan.

However, he lives on through his kids Dough, Dick, Dan, and Cheri.

Richard Devos was a real visionary, a genuine pioneer building the space in which many people have a love-hate relationship.

Space, all of us know these days as multi-level marketing.

Richard and Jay Van Andel began by selling cleaning products, carrying out the exact model they’d worked together on previously.

They grew through the decades, going international, promoting beauty, health, wellness, and nutrition products.

After getting enormous success in business practices, Devos has chosen to create a buzz into the sports industry by buying the Orlando Magic for $85 million.

Now, his child Dan has maintained an interest in sports by becoming the owner of the American Hockey League.

Dick Devos, his other son, is married to Betsy Devos, the current secretary of training.

Richard Devos has a $5.1 billion accumulated net worth.

Amway Company

Amway currently operates in more than 100 countries and has more than 17,000 employees. Even though there haven’t been any official numbers published, it’s believed they have anywhere in between 3 to 4 million distributors.

Based on the latest Forbes’ online business rankings, they’ve mentioned Amway as the 44th largest privately held company in the United States based on revenue.

Wow.

amway products

Amway has got themselves considered in the direct selling news “Top 100 list” for an extended period of operation. Amazing. To say the least, that’ impressive!

So how does their headquarters looks like?

Joking, but the Avengers HQ could pass for Amway Company!

amway reviews

The company’s office is a mile long and comprises 80 different structures with a remarkable 3.5 million square feet of commercial area.

Impressive.

In addition to that, they own a hotel in Grand Rapids known as the Amway Grand Plaza…so how did they rise?

amway review

Amway was created by Richard Devos and Jan Van Andel in 1959, who were close friends before they got into the business.

You are probably amazed…1959 is a whole ten years before we landed on the moon! (did we though?)

Anyhow, allow me to share a few things which will put their age into perspective for you:

  • Amazon was no a thought yet
  • Mattel had just created the original barbie doll
  • Alaska became US territory!

But get this…Jay and Rich go back further!

Almost 1 decade before, the two had started to market nutritional products under the company named Nutrilite.

amway business

Their claim to fame was providing the initial multivitamin in the US.

After the 2 guys saw how huge this direct selling industry was running for them, they soon became among the company’s best distributors.

Jay and Richard were in love with the business’s model of offering out commissions to them when their recruit made sales from customer. This was recognized as network advertising / multi-level marketing.

is amway legit

Once they’d got 5,000 distributors, they chose to exit from Nutrilite (with their 5,000 distributors) and build their own business.

The organization they founded was known as American Way, known presently as Amway, plus they’d expanded their product line into items for the home.

That’s how the legend started…

Devos and Van Andel first order business was acquiring the rights to a specific type of product…

But what would they pick?

They went with a home cleaner which would later be recognized globally as “Frisk,” but for the unexplained reason, it changed over to “Legacy of clean.”

amway cult

These had been the primary item on Amway’s product line with the Nutrilite multivitamins the company later acquired for a very long period.

They became widespread among people looking to generate cash because Amway provided distributors residual income through customer’s repeat purchases.

That’s the point where the thought of being a rep and selling to friends and family was introduced to the game.

If you go forward and catch up to today’s world, you’ll see they’ve numerous different labeled Amway products throughout several company divisions. These groups are bringing in billions by themselves!

3 years ago, they sold 11 Billion multivitamin pills! They were named the top-selling health supplement brand!

Do you want to know something funny?

During the 90s-00s, Amway was considered an online business for a brief time! It did not last long, however…

is amway a scam

They released the web edition of Amway, Quixtar, for north America…but nothing success didn’t come a lot, as you’ll understand….they don’t exist now.

So why did Amway choose to go the internet path when everything appeared to be going smooth?

Were they hopping on the online bandwagon?

Basically, the answer is a lot simpler than that…

By going through Quixtar, Amway distributors might be recognized as independent business people (IBO’s as they would become later) since they could place an order on the internet!

It looked like a good grasp at the moment since, hypothetically, it saved time for needing to personally complete order slips and upline distribution.

Eventually, Quixtar didn’t achieve the foothold in the public that it had to succeed. Seven years after launching, Quixtar was struck with a class action lawsuit which could seem to be the last nail in the coffin.

Starting in 2007, the Quixtar brand gradually fades away and Amway business people nowadays placed themselves under the parent company Alticor Inc. as a large happy Amway family.

is amway a pyramid scheme

Because of their MLM business model, we can safely say that their status in public can be hit or miss. Many people find it irresistible and some dislike it…

You will be hard-pressed to uncover anybody playing middle ground.

One thing is certain, people are not upset talking about the product quality…

How Amway Works

How Amway Works

Look, we know you want to start earning money with Amway, ideally, the $500k yearly…

We hate to disappoint you, though…

No one starts out making that much money.

Before you can make all of that cash, you’ve to learn Amway’s ropes and begin as an independent entrepreneur by paying 100 dollars.

100 dollars for what?…initiation into the club, duh!

The other element of this Amway business model, which they educate you on, is fun. Get ready!

You’ll be obliged to try and shill to your family about them and encourage them to purchase things from you…or, worse part, recruit them so that you can begin getting a commission from Amway.

Not so fun…

The next attempt is persuading you to market all of your existing house care products and turn them over to Amway.

“Ahhh, but that’s all included in that $100 joining fee, right?”

WRONG!

It is more cash from your pocket.

What also worse is just how much you need to get to create a good commission.

You observe the Amway point system is not equal to a buck per point like most MLM businesses which means…

DING-DING-DING

You figured it out…

It isn’t easy to make Amway worthwhile for you!

Putting it into perspective, Amway has provided you just a small chart to check to help you understand your gain every time you sell Amway products.

As you can understand, you have to sell no less than 600 PV to earn 9% of the BV…

Essentially, you are looking at $225 monthly.

But remember, you and the team you promote to will need to invest $1,000 to achieve it!

Today that is not bad if you are a ten-year-old kid trying to make a few dollars…but chances are you are an adult who wants a clear path to make cash online…

And Amway isn’t it, my guy!

While you can make a 25% commission if you reach 7500 PV…it takes considerable effort and hard work to make that kind of money!

Sadly, you can only earn so much with Amway by doing it by yourself. The money, the same as any Pyramid Schemes/MLMs, would be that the cash is generated primarily from recruitment and you receive a part of their commissions.

That’s crap…but that is how the game is played with Amway.

Want to make some REAL MONEY though?

Check out what people on the same journey as you have found!

Why Is Amway Banned In The US?

Presently, Amway isn’t restricted in the US.

But, it’s forbidden in the UK after discovering that Amway generates more money by selling for their distributors than by direct product selling.

It’s additionally under serious scrutiny by India. They have also arrested a few higher distributors for involvement in an illegal pyramid scheme.

Now Amway is going through legal challenges left and right to maintain operations in the US. It’s similar, though, in India (Managed by CEO William S Pinckney) and the UK, in which Amway’s days of business are numbered.

Why Are Amway Products So Expensive?

Amway Products

Alright I won’t keep you waiting any longer…let’s talk about money!

It doesn’t mean that distributors will be earning a ton of cash yearly whenever a business is bringing 8 billion dollars annually.

If you came access with the “Founders Emerald” or “Founders Diamond” levels…it’s safe to suggest these guys getting a large share of the dough with Amway.

Furthermore…if you run into anybody in any of the “Crown” levels…they earn a lot of recurring income every month, which will make you go crazy.

But as you can imagine… that does not apply to everyone.

It is an incredibly tiny percentage that makes that number.

So what is the standard earning you can expect as an Amway business owner?

Based on Amway.com, you will discover that only 48% of the independent distributors are active. Of the active ones…

They only $200 a month!

Yes people, that is not a typo…

JUST $200 A MONTH!

And so why’s it so small compared to typical Amway entrepreneur?

For anybody associated with direct selling, it is a constant uphill battle at the start…

The steepness that not even semi-trucks can go through.

A primary reason individuals think it is challenging to succeed in Amway is they do not hold the time required to dedicate to it.

They treat the Amway Business as part-time work. However, this particular part-time job demands you to invest a lot of money in this company for a good profit.

Yeah, that sounds like a dick thing to say, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become an MLM IBO (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the MLM skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

Pros Of Amway

Pros Of Amway

You won’t worry about the stability

Amway is the biggest & best MLM organization in the globe.

This implies you are hooking up with a 60 old business that does $8 to 9 billion a year of product sales.

The product quality is mostly excellent.

If you want to be a full-time Amway IBO, you’ll be satisfied with what you are selling product-wise.

Even if you are not serious about their business strategy, Amway remains recognized for getting quality customer products.

A top rating from the Better Business Bureau.

Amway is accredited with the BBB for nearly thirty years (after 1991) for what it is worth.

And they have an A rating.

Because good Amway reviews frequently come from their distributors, they are not unbiased, lol.

They are the most well-established network marketing in the business.

Amway provides top-rated training materials and functions for their IBOs.

Amway has many free training programs and resources to enable you to get to the next level of your MLM business.

It includes live presentations, podcasts, online courses, and webinars.

No raggedy, black-and-white, copy-of-a-copy brochures.

They have an Amway Business Center for IBOs in NY.

Cons Of Amway

Cons Of Amway

Is Amway a Scam or Pyramid Scheme?

On the business opportunity side, Amway’s reputation is in the crapper.

Whether you like it or not.

Throughout the years, the company continues to be the target of many FTC investigations.

Anybody who has been working in this market for some time appreciates that most MLMs walk a fine line between promoting the product and selling the dream.

As you expect, among the long-standing and biggest accusations against Amway is it is an illegal pyramid scheme.

Thus the term “Scamway” has become popular.

Amway a Scam or Pyramid Scheme

What Does The Federal Trade Commission Have To Say?

Federal Trade Commission

The FTC does not have a lot to say…only that Amway is not a scam, technically…

We are not ones for conspiracy theories here…but his participation in the United States government at numerous times may have had a bit to do with that…

Besides, countries like India and the UK have come to discover what Amway is.

Fortunately, you don’t have to depend on shady MLM’s to generate money online…

My #1 Online Business Model In 2024!

Digital Leasing

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Leasing!

Where Multi Level Marketing falls short is in scalability.

There’s only so much time in a day and there’s only so many people you can reach to sell by yourself.

MLM companies know this! Which is why they push so hard for you to recruit for your downline…you can’t get rich with it as a one man/woman show.

But what if you could make even more money off of little local websites without having to spend hundreds of dollars on overpriced products and a bunch of time recruiting people to sell under you?

With this Digital Leasing program, you can make recurring monthly income without constant sales to your friends and constant recruitment!

Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a LOCAL website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it Digital Leasing now? That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to worry about:

  • Your upline getting paid before you
  • Begging your friends and family to buy from you
  • Recruiting people all the time

But as it is with Amway… You only get what’s left of the pie if you meet a monthly quota…

The course we recommend actually allows you to collect HUGE FLAT RATE DEALS. Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group much better than the Amway group in our opinion. This group is much more active.

Unlike MLMs, where you’re getting maybe $10 per sale, you could be getting 10-20X THAT.

A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding Digital Leasing.

Unlike Amway, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.

Digital Leasing allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent WITH your friends, NOT selling to them.

Now, I know you probably have tons of questions…

So, check this out to learn more.
