It’s another of those make-money-online business that revolve around you becoming you’re own “independent business owner” even though you still work under them.
It is pushed by their recruits who are compensated by you joining under them. Yes, you read that correctly…
It is meant to teach you how to become a “six-figure network marketer,” however, the majority of members make no money promoting other people’s items.
That is the truth…
You will not become wealthy on a $6 commission.
And, while we must be fair in this review…
ACN does contain some useful information on how to earn income online and earn some sizable commission checks…
However, the business model is outdated!
In the end, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding ACN and network marketing in general.
And most importantly, I’ll show you the exact system I used to build my own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.
This system made me swear off network marketing for good, because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!
But more on that later.

What Is ACN?
ACN (American Communication Network) was founded in 1993 in Concord, North Carolina, by young entrepreneurs with years of combined experience in direct sales.

They chose to start their own MLM firm due to their discontent with other companies’ training (primarily trial and error).
American Communications Network has grown into a worldwide enterprise with Independent Business Owners who use network marketing to promote telecom services.
ACN is today the world’s largest distributor of telecommunications services. The second largest was a corporation called Excel Communications, which has since ceased operations.
What Products Does ACN Offer?
Residential Services:
Home phone services:
For $24.99 per month, you can make unlimited calls from your home to over 80 mobile and landline destinations using your high-speed internet connection.
High-speed Internet:
ACN provides nationwide high-speed internet services that include the following:
- Frontier
- Centurylink
- Verizon
- AT&T
Pricing will vary depending on the service provider you select and range from $20 to $100 each month.
Wireless service:
You can use this phone plan on a contract or no-contract basis and choose from three different pricing options (purple, green, or yellow) depending on the function you use. Additionally, you must be able to enroll people in a “friends and family” plan.
Purple pricing plan range: $23-$64/month
Green pricing plan range: $23-$79/month
Yellow pricing plan range: $23-$69/month.
XOOM energy:
ACN’s Xoom energy is a natural gas service that offers two options:
SureLock: Your service’s price will never fluctuate.
SimpleFlex — With this plan, your monthly pricing fluctuates according to your usage, but you can cancel or switch at any time.
Television:
ACN is also a satellite television provider through DirecTv and Dish Network. Packages begin at $39.99.
Home security and automation:
Additionally, ACN offers home security and automation through Vivint, an industry leader. With this service, you’ll receive notifications to help you manage your smart home, as well as 24-hour security surveillance with video monitoring.
These services are available with a $50 down payment and no activation fees.
Business Services:
You receive everything included in the Residential Services package, plus the following:
Anovia payment and processing:
ACN provides payment and credit card processing services via Anovia, which includes the following:
- Debit
- Credit
- Gift Card
- e-Commerce
- e-Checks
Three choices are available to you:
- There is no upfront cost for the mobile card reader that would incur expenses or other possible operating expenses — the monthly fee is $25.
- Contract-free plan – $20 per month
- Purchase a Swipe terminal with low transaction costs – just $15 per month
How Does The ACN Compensation Plan Work?
There are three ways for an independent business owner to earn money.
Monthly Residual Commissions
When an IBO begins developing a team or recruits and increases their billings, the commissions generated by that team will eventually become their principal source of residual income/revenue.
Essentially, you begin earning money from the actions of the team members you recruited. And as your teams grow, the method from which you generate residual money will grow as well.
These are quite scarce, and you’ll have to work off your ASS to obtain them.
Personal Commissions
Personal commissions are calculated as a proportion of the total revenue generated by consumers you individually signed up for ACN service plans.
ACN will pay you a portion of between 2% and 8% of your customer’s entire monthly payment.
Thus, if you have a personal base of 39 customers that spend approximately $1,000 each month on ACN Services, you will earn 2% of that amount. This represents a monthly residual revenue of $20 from those consumers.
As a result, the more clients you get, the more money you earn.
This is something we appreciate about ACN because they make a point of incentivizing their reps in retail sales. This is something that more multilevel-marketing companies should do.
With that stated, I doubt that most people will bother signing up 39 consumers to earn 1-3 percent of their overall payment.
Personal commissions are slightly easier to obtain…
Still, it would be best if you work EXTREMELY HARD. The odds are you’ll work harder at this than you did at the 9-5 you abandoned.

Team Residual Commissions
Team residuals are the commissions you earn from the people you sign up and their customers and the commissions they earn from the people you sign up and their customers.
Ahhhh, the most heinous of all payment methods. DOWNLINE money. You must sell unwary people on the phony dream you were offered to increase your chances of earning more money.
I’m sure you’re aware of how filthy MLM money can be by now, and you’re undoubtedly repulsed by it.

However, if you wish to continue pursuing small commissions and less than clean money… See the following ACN payment schedule:
Although this picture is sparse in its information, it does indicate that you get 23 percent commissions on all levels up to seven.
While this may appear to be an excellent compensation plan, it represents only 23% of ACN income.
Thus, around 1/4 of your ACN billings will go to those above you regardless of which service you sign up clients for.
So, ACN is having a difficult time supplying services at competitive costs to your clients.
Of course, they want to earn money on their end, which means they’ll need to pay out these commissions in addition to their overhead.
So, how much money can you earn at each level?
To address that concern, we examined the ACN compensation plan for 2019. This will demonstrate how ACN IBOs earn their commissions.

It’s rather obvious from this diagram that to succeed with ACN, you must first construct a strong downline. The more money spent with ACN by your downline, the more money you earn.
And, of course, the most effective approach to expand your downline is for your members to recruit additional ACN Independent Business Owners… and so on. This is the MLM method.
Customer Acquisition Bonuses
Customer acquisition bonuses are paid upfront and are only applicable to new ACN clients.
Following that, when one of your recruits becomes a team trainer, you’ll earn between $90-275, depending on your status.
And to qualify as a team trainer, your recruit must sign up for the $499 initiation package and then sign up six to eight consumers within a specified time period.
I understand what you’re thinking… “This is compensation for customer acquisition,” yet it is not. These benefits are only payable if the individuals you recruit ‘level up’ within 30 days.
This is what the majority of MLMs refer to as their ‘fast start bonus.’ It is merely an incentive to get folks up and running as quickly as possible.
This approach is referred to as ‘tap-rooting’ in ACN.
The objective here is to encourage ACN IBOs to recruit as much as possible while they are still passionate about the program. We’ve noticed that an IBO who is required to recruit at least one member into their downline is more likely to stay with the MLM.
The comprehensive compensation plan includes a description of the points system for all services. However, this is only applicable to your specific location.
How To Join ACN As An Independent Business Owner?
Therefore, if you wish to become an ACN IBO, the first step is to sign an ACN business owner agreement.
You’ll be required to pay a $499 ‘application fee,’ which must accompany the letter of intent and is essentially a business startup charge.
After becoming an IBO, you will be able to sell ACN’s services directly to your consumers via your website. So, there is a direct selling association.
Bear in mind that you are an independent business owner, not an employee, of ACN.
Which is fantastic since it allows you to establish your hours and manage your business in any way you like. You are essentially paying to operate your own business, not to be an employee.

Is It Hard To Make Money With ACN?
Due to the fundamental flaws in the MLM business model, making money is extremely difficult across the board, not just with ACN.
According to Jon Taylor’s 2014 book, Multi-level Marketing Unmasked, 99.7 percent of those who join MLM organizations often lose money.
So what are you waiting for? Check out something that ACTUALLY works instead!
n that, they built a massive network of dedicated customers who would not buy their items otherwise unless a promise of financial freedom was attached.
As I have stated, the compensation structure appears to be excellent, but you are also paying commissions. Bear in mind that 23% of your ACN service price will be delivered in commissions to those in positions above you.
According to what we’ve noticed in ACN customer evaluations, many believe the services are overpriced and poor quality.
Additionally, many other consumers dislike the inability to terminate services, leading them to feel ACN is a hoax.
Is ACN A Pyramid Scheme?
This is not the case legally, as the business earns money by selling goods and services that customers want or need. Only when you earn money through recruitment is it deemed a pyramid scam.
In 1979, the FTC filed a complaint against Amway, alleging that it was operating an illegal pyramid system despite marketing legitimate products.
After nearly four years of litigation, Amway was determined not an illegal pyramid scheme but presented a business opportunity.
This may sound like technicalities, but members are required to make sales under their contracts.
This verdict paved the way for other multilevel marketing companies (such as the ACN opportunity) to enter the battle, as long as their primary objective is client acquisition rather than sign-up bonuses.’
However, just because something is technically legal does not make it ethical.
Indeed, ACN was accused of being a pyramid scheme in Australia in 2005. ACN continues to operate in Australia today, so I’m presuming they either modified their ways or won their lawsuit.
Is The ANC Legit Or A Scam?
Given ACN’s longevity (24 years), the company appears to be legitimate.
Naturally, every business will have its share of client complaints regardless of whether they offer genuine products or services. This is not exclusive to MLMs or other similar companies.
By and large, their customer support has been the source of the majority of complaints we’ve encountered.
They fail to mention that your original ACN contract no longer covers the services you receive following the change, and you end up paying more money for the same services before you notice the change occurred.
Of course, this would not be a problem if the vast majority of ACN IBOs earned a living, but the reality is that less than 1% of ACN representatives make a living from the ACN offers.
As is, ACN is a bit of a stumbling block in the MLM sector.
They offer new services here and there to entice the next ACN opportunity seeker, but they haven’t hammered down a strategy for making those fantasies a reality overall.
